Live Oak

This old tree grows in the Jack London State Park in Sonoma County California. Perhaps it was planted by the great author, who was also a pioneering agriculturalist. London’s home and farm buildings remain intact. What’s not intact is the burned up hull of a large stone mansion he built. I love how this tree’s distinctive twisty branches spread from edge to edge.
